What It Is

Color, Texture,
Built In.

The decorative flake system starts with a polyaspartic base coat applied directly to diamond-ground concrete. While the base is still wet, we broadcast vinyl color flakes across the entire surface at full density — this is what gives the floor its color, texture, and depth.

Once the base cures overnight, we return on Day 2 and apply a clear polyaspartic topcoat that locks the flakes in place, seals the surface against moisture and chemicals, and gives the floor its final sheen and slip resistance.

The result is a floor that looks layered and intentional — not painted. The flake texture hides dirt, grit, and light wear between cleanings in a way that solid color systems can't, and the polyaspartic binder means it holds up for years under real use.

The Process

How the Flake
Gets There.

Day 1 — Morning

We Grind the Floor

We don't just cover your floor — we grind it. Diamond grinders cut into the concrete surface, opening up the pores and creating a profile the coating bonds into, not just onto. This is what creates the permanent, molecular bond with your concrete that other systems can't match.

01
Day 1 — Morning

Moisture Testing & Crack Repair

Most concrete floors have moisture — and if we skip this step, the coating fails from underneath. We test, we address it, and we fill every crack and surface defect before a drop of coating goes down. The concrete has to be right before anything else happens.

02
Day 1 — Afternoon

Base Coat & Full Broadcast

The polyaspartic base coat goes down while we're still on Day 1. The flakes get broadcast wall to wall while the base is wet — full coverage, no thin spots. A lot of companies stop here and call it done. We don't.

03
Day 2

The Topcoat That Makes It Last

We come back the next day. The high-solids polyaspartic topcoat is the step most one-day companies skip — it's what stands between your floor and hot-tire pickup, chemical spills, and Midwest temperature swings. You can't rush the cure time and get the same result.

Why Flake

Why It Outperforms
Everything Else.

Hides Grit & Wear

The multi-color chip pattern visually breaks up dust, sand, and light surface wear between cleanings. A solid color shows every speck. Flake doesn't — and it still looks clean at a glance.

Depth You Can't Fake

The flake broadcast creates a layered, three-dimensional finish that has actual depth and variation. It reads as a designed floor, not a painted one — the difference is visible from across the room.

Built-In Slip Resistance

The flake texture creates natural grip underfoot that smooth solid-color finishes don't have. For outdoor applications and wet areas we add silica aggregate, but the flake itself already provides meaningful traction.

UV Stable Topcoat

The polyaspartic clear coat won't yellow or amber in sunlight — the flake colors you choose on install day are the colors you'll have years later, even on outdoor surfaces or near windows.

Non-Porous Seal

The topcoat creates a sealed, non-porous surface — oil, coolant, water, and cleaning products sit on top and wipe clean rather than soaking into the concrete and staining permanently.

Dozens of Color Options

With dozens of flake blends and the option to mix custom combinations, you can match any interior palette or design direction — from neutral whites to deep charcoals to warm earth tones.
