Outdoor Living
Starts at the Floor.
Your patio sees full sun, hard rain, and Midwest freeze-thaw every year. Our outdoor-grade polyaspartic system is built for all of it — UV stable, slip-resistant, and beautiful enough to make your backyard feel like it was designed that way.
What Outdoor Concrete
Actually Needs.
Not every coating is built for the outdoors. Most epoxy systems fail outside within a few seasons. We use polyaspartic specifically because it handles everything the Midwest throws at an outdoor surface.
UV Stable — No Yellowing
Epoxy breaks down in direct sunlight. It yellows, chalks, and peels within a few seasons. Polyaspartic is UV stable — the topcoat is engineered for full sun exposure and holds its color without degrading. What you see on install day is what you get years later.
Built for Midwest Winters
Freeze-thaw cycling is the number-one killer of outdoor coatings in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Our polyaspartic formula flexes with the concrete as it expands and contracts — rather than cracking along with it. Diamond-grind prep creates the bond that holds through every cycle.
Slip-Resistant by Design
A coated outdoor surface can't be slippery — period. Every patio application includes a slip-resistant flake broadcast and optional silica aggregate in the topcoat. You get the beauty of a finished floor and the safety of a surface designed for wet feet and summer rainstorms.
Every Outdoor
Concrete Surface.
We coat all outdoor concrete — from the attached patio off your back door to the front entrance that sets the tone for your whole home.
Attached Patio
The most common project we see. An attached patio gets daily foot traffic, furniture scuffs, grill grease, and standing water after rain. Our coating handles all of it without staining, peeling, or fading — and it makes the transition from interior to exterior feel intentional.
Front Entrance & Porch
First impressions matter. A coated front entrance gives your home a finished, maintained look that bare concrete never achieves. It also handles salt, boots, and wet shoes better than any sealer — and it doesn't need to be reapplied every couple of years.
Walkways & Side Entries
Side walkways and service entries take a beating — snow shoveling, lawn equipment, foot traffic in all conditions. A polyaspartic coating gives these surfaces the durability they need without looking industrial, and the slip-resistant finish keeps them safe year-round.
The Lakeside
Two-Day System.
Concrete Inspection & Diamond Grind
We inspect the slab for cracks, spalling, and surface conditions — then diamond-grind the entire surface. This creates a mechanical profile the coating bonds to permanently, rather than just sitting on top.
Crack Repair & Surface Prep
All cracks and pits are filled and leveled. We also address any frost-heave cracks or surface spalling from prior winters. The goal is a clean, even surface before any coating touches the slab.
Base Coat & Slip-Resistant Broadcast
Our outdoor polyaspartic base coat goes down across the prepared surface. While wet, we broadcast decorative flakes — and for outdoor applications, we incorporate silica aggregate for added grip. The floor cures overnight.
UV-Stable Clear Topcoat
We return the next day and apply the high-solids, UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat — the layer that protects everything below from sun, rain, freeze-thaw, and foot traffic. Your patio is done by end of day.
Looks Good.
Performs Better.
Decorative Flake
Our most popular outdoor finish. The full-broadcast flake system creates natural slip resistance, hides dirt and grit between cleanings, and looks great in dozens of color blends — from light neutrals to bold earth tones.
Solid Color
A clean, single-color polyaspartic finish is a sharp look for modern homes or minimalist outdoor spaces. Works especially well on front entrances and walkways where you want a deliberate, architectural look without the speckle of a flake system.
Grip-Enhanced Finish
For high-traffic outdoor areas, steps, or surfaces near water — we can increase the silica aggregate in the topcoat for a more pronounced grip texture. Same great look, extra peace of mind when wet.
Built for
Every Season.
Outdoor surfaces face conditions no interior floor ever will. Here's how our coating holds up through everything the Midwest delivers.
Common
Questions.
The questions homeowners ask us most before we coat their outdoor spaces. Still not sure? Just reach out — we're happy to talk through your specific situation.
Yes — this is one of polyaspartic's biggest advantages over epoxy. Our outdoor coating is specifically formulated to handle freeze-thaw cycling, which is the main reason cheaper coatings fail in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. The coating flexes with the concrete rather than cracking with it.
No — we always incorporate a slip-resistant broadcast into outdoor applications. The decorative flake system creates natural texture, and we can also add a fine silica aggregate into the topcoat for extra grip in high-traffic areas or near water features.
No. Our polyaspartic topcoat is UV stable — it won't yellow, amber, or break down under direct sun exposure the way epoxy does. This is one of the main reasons we use polyaspartic for all outdoor applications.
Yes — the cured coating is pressure-wash safe. We recommend a standard residential pressure setting. Avoid holding the wand directly on one spot for an extended period, and you'll be fine.
We fill cracks and pits during the Day 1 prep phase. Active structural cracks may re-surface over time as the concrete continues to move — we'll discuss what we find during the estimate so you know what to expect before we start.
Foot traffic is typically fine 24 hours after Day 2. We recommend waiting 48–72 hours before placing furniture back on the surface, and about a week before anything heavy like a grill, planter, or fire pit.
